How is it already mid-November?? I feel like I was just in Madrid for Halloween complaining about how November was about to begin. I have so much to update on my recent travels so I'll try to keep it short.

We went to Galicia, a region in the Northwest of Spain. We stayed in the province of A Coruña and visited the capital Santiago de Compostela. Architecture majors might remember studying the Cathedral de Santiago de Compostela. It's a Roman Catholic Cathedral, which is rumored to be the burial place of Saint James. I also learned it's the third holiest place in the world after Jerusalem and the Vatican. It was basically amazing and I couldn't believe I was there!

These pictures make the situation look quite pleasant but in reality, it was STORMING..so terribly and none of us were prepared. That whole day was pretty bad but we got over it and just accepted that we would be soaking wet and freezing. There really wasn't another option. We were there on a Sunday and lined up to go to mass. The ceremony was very cool, unlike anything I've experienced. Pictures were prohibited but I'm sneaky and caught a few.

While in Santiago, we also toured the construction site of Peter Eisenman's City of Culture of Galicia. Eisenman wanted to make the complex invisible and part of the natural hills of the rolling landscape. It was a nice concept but most of us agreed that the execution and materials used weren't suitable. I'm excited to see the finished building though.

We spent more time in A Coruña touring the old city, museums, and lighthouse but the highlight of this trip was definitely the cathedral. The following weekend, a few of us went to Valencia to visit Calatrava's City of Arts and Sciences. The buildings, to me, resembled different spaceships. I was surprised to see the scale of the project..I had no idea it was so huge. Other than the attractive appearance of the exteriors, the interiors were pretty much a fail. The museums were terrible and the aquarium was the worst thing ever. Nothing like Monterey Bay or Seaworld <3

That following weekend Virginia came to visit! She's studying abroad in Berlin this semester and came to Barcelona with a few of her friends. It was so nice to see a familiar face and FINALLY another Asian person. I never thought I would miss hanging with Asian people so much. Here we are at Razzmatazz..not exactly the best place to go to catch up but it was fun nonetheless.

For Halloween weekend, we went to Madrid for a few days. Madrid wasn't as great as I expected. It felt like any other city and their nightlife wasn't exciting. We visited all the main tourist attractions including the Caixaforum, Reina Sofia, Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, and El Prado. El Prado, Reina Sofia, and the palace were probably the more interesting things we saw. Seeing Las Meninas and Guernica live was like seeing a celebrity.

The following weekend, we went to Bilbao and neighboring town of San Sebastian. We of course went to see the Goog, which made us appreciate Frank Ghery more. I expected another Valencia experience, where the exterior looks cool but interior sucks. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the museum. The Richard Serra exhibit was my favorite. We took the train that same day to San Sebastian where we spent the night. The town was so adorable! It was a cute little city right next to the beach. That night was very fun..our hostel recommended a long list of things to do (bars, tapas etc.) and we hit up allll of them haha.

My most recent trip was a program trip to Granada in the South of Spain to see La Alhambra. It was nice to finally see a different style of architecture. The Moorish palace was very interesting and the whole area including the garden was huge; it was like its own little city. We had a 6 hour tour and through it, we learned a bit more about Islamic architecture. One of my favorites was the Arabesque patterns of the canopies and everywhere else in the palaces haha. We also saw a flamenco show with dinner, which felt so Spanish. I could really tell that we were no longer in Catalunya. It was fun to see such dramatic and talented dancers.

Finally I'm back to Barcelona for a longer period of time. Next week is already Thanksgiving o_o.. I decided not to travel mainly to save money for my final trip and believe it or not, I have papers and projects to finish asap. I leave for London and Dublin next Thursday for a week and when I return, everything is due along with finals. Yippeee, need to keep reminding myself that none of these classes count! I know this post was massive but hopefully it was entertaining.

1.5 MONTH UPDATE

Keeping up with this blog clearly failed..and once weeks have gone by, so many things have happened that make it even harder to update. So this will be my extremely condensed version of my past 7 weeks in beautiful Barcelona and some other cities along the way.

My weekdays always start here, the CIEE center at Passatge Permanyer. It's a cute little street where all my classes take place. I'm really enjoying my classes here. Spanish is fun, studio is chill, and my other 2 on Gaudi and the visual culture of Barcelona are awesome because we take walking tours to actually see what we learn about in class.

Residencia Onix, my home for this semester. I have my own room, bathroom, and share a kitchen with a local Spanish student. The space is small but I'm not complaining. Our program organizes day and weekend trips for us and so far we've been to a Cava tour (Catalan version of champagne), Sitges, and Galicia.

One of the first nights in Barcelona, we went to Razzmatazz. It was huge, sweaty, dirty, and very European. We got tired of the pulsing house music after about 20 minutes lol..never thought I would miss annoying American club music so much. They definitely do not play bay slaps here :(

Besides night time activities, we have done quite a bit of exploring around Barcelona. I love walking down the street here because I'll always see something appealing...architecture, food, people, etc. My birthday this year landed on a yearly festival, La Merce. It's a Roman Catholic holiday and the city organizes a series of events during the week.

In retrospect, this looks like a terrible idea. It was fun at the time though but also quite painful because I wasn't dressed right haha.

Now about the food. I wish I wrote this when I first got here, back when I thought everything was delicious. I'm slowly getting over the novelty of Spanish food but once in awhile I'll try something and be pleasantly surprised. Like today! We went to Euskal Etxea and had some great tapas. Fried goat cheese and jam..who would've thunk it??

We also had a Cook and Taste class where we learned how to make a traditional Catalan meal.

I learned these past 5 days that I suck at pronouncing Korean and should just stop trying. My internship ended last Friday (woo!) so I took a trip to Korea to visit a few friends. Here goes my condensed yet very long update :)

NIGHT 1: After a looong bus ride to my hotel, I met up with Julia, Christina, Brian Yoo! (what a small world) and Justy to explore Seoul. We ended up at this restaurant in Hongdae serving huge portions of chicken simmered in kimchi soup and various other unknown items haha. Should've taken a picture! Next we went to HO Bar for some dranks and began celebrations for Hooly's 21st birthday.

Later, we met up with more new friends to eat..again. We probably ate about 3 times that night..basically eat/drink/karaoke/eat/drink and repeat. It was a nice welcome to Korea.

DAY 2: Today was our city tour of Seoul, led by our wonduhful tourguide JANE LEE :) We visited Namdemun, Myeongdong (street markets and shopping areas), this man-made river, the hello kitty cafe!, and other areas with names too similar in Korean that I can't remember right now.

We also visited Ewha Women's University (eeeeeewaaaaa lol), one of the top universities in Seoul. The new campus center was designed by Dominique Perraul and was probably one of the more interesting buildings we saw. "..campus center's spaces are interspersed above and below the land..submerging much of the spaces underground. Light penetrates the structure through a large channel that sits between the building's two halves. ..designed to offer a new sense of direction for higher education in the 21st century." -ArchDaily

That night we met up with Julia again in Gangnam and took pictures at the media poles. Pretty entertaining for awhile lol. The result:

We couldn't find much to do since it was a Sunday night so we just wandered around the area, ate some tasty street toppiki (korean rice cake) and took sticky pics haha. The highlight of the night was probably this sign:

DAY 3: Our Seoul tour continued with a visit to the Seoul Tower, a communication and observation tower in Nansam. We probably spent more time at the gift shops rather than the observation deck but it was still fun.

We tried ginseng chicken soup for lunch cause I read about it online as one of the must-eats in Korea. It was pretty hot and satisfying..didn't disappoint nomnomnom.

We visited the Han River and decided to go banana boating. Since we didn't go prepared..the guy told us we wouldn't get wet so we happily went. ...of course he lied and flipped us over, leaving us completely drenched. no bueno at first but we decided to make the most of the nice day and played some more in the water. A champion jetskier also gave us a free ride haha. We later found out the suicide rate at this river was quite high...GREAAAT.

To celebrate Hoolia's 21st bday at 12am American time...we bought her some soju and made her drink at 4pm Korean time near the lake..amongst young children and their familias. She was a good sport though and actually agreed. happy barfday hools! That night we met up with Christine! and had some quality Korean BBQ. I was too hungry so I just ate and forget to take more pichas.

Next we visited Dr. Fiiiish! It's a cafe where you can pay a bit more to have bebe fish nip off the dead skin from your feet.. yummm. Sounds strange/gross and it pretty much was! Took some getting used to but it was an interesting experience haha.

This was Justin's last night in Korea so we wanted to have some fun. We took a long subway ride to Sinchon only to find the area dead and deserted. We found some random "Jazz" Sky Bar and took a chance. It was a super fail..no live band or even jazz music..only a depressing bar playing sad kdrama songs :( Goodbye Justin!

DAY 4: This post is almost over I promise. I stayed at Julia's family's house for my last night so her really cute/nice aunt took us out for a traditional Korean meal. This is only a small portion of what we ate..the dishes kept coming and coming. I wish I spoke some Korean though..cause we basically couldn't communicate at all lol.

Next we tried to visit Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest palace built by the Joseon Dynasty. Sadly it started to pour so I only took a picture from afar. We visited the National Palace Museum instead haha..which took probably ten minutes.

After a walk down any street in Seoul, I quickly realized that Seoul has A LOT of cafes so Julia took me to a green tea house in Insadong to try their tea and green tea waffles. It was another sad day cause their waffle machine was broken :( I settled for this fruity green tea, which was aiiite. I really liked the simple interior of the tea house so we stayed there for a loong time, hiding from the rain and discussing our futures and what we should change our majors to...just kidding kinda.

For dindin we ate this Korean hotpot meal. I forget the Korean name for it but it's basically a huge boiling kimchi tofu soup with ramen and udon. Julia and I are used for scale to show how large this thing was..and yes of course we killed it. oopsy daisy.

We tried to move our comatosed-selves around the area after dinner and went to this street near Apgujeong. Again I can't remember the name..but I decided it was one of my favorite parts of Seoul. It's filled with cafes and unique stores with interesting and modern storefronts. If I ever return to Seoul, I wanna explore this area more on an empty stomach. I also tried my first Mister Donut..even though I was about to burst. the things i do for food..

This was my last night so we met up with some new/old friends again. No pictures from our activities though..it was basically everything that went down the first night x5?

DAY 5: We woke up way too late due to the previous night so we didn't have much time before I had to bus to the airport. We just stayed around Anyang and visited the Museum of Contemporary Art of Koreaaa.
This will be the only pic from the museum to stop this post from getting even longer. My 5 days in Korea went by fast but I feel like I got to see the main areas and experience Seoul more as local rather than a complete tourist (thanks to our lovely hosts and new friends!) I know we exhausted you guys and you probably got annoyed of seeing us 5 days straight lol..but I really appreciated it. Come to Hong Kong anytime I'm here and you can exhaust me back. I'll show you a good timeee. Now I'm back with just less than 2 weeks left in Hong Kong. Where did the time go?! I need to rest up before my next adventure in Barcelona.

I went to watch this HK movie the other day, La Comedie Humaine, and afterwards the lead actor and his wife were outside the theater doing a meet and greet haha. What a quinky dink! I don't really know who they are but apparently they're pretty famous. Everyone was taking pictures with them so I decided to join in the fun. It was a terrible movie by the way..HK entertainment really sucks.

TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF

Last week was my first week of work and I've never been so exhausted while in HK haha. I may be a drama mama but cut me some slack, it's my first real job. I'm working at a place called LP Architects and it's a relatively small company. The Sunday before my first day was so nerve-wracking. I was completely dreading it. I just had so many mixed feelings about it..I felt like my summer was gone, waking up early everyday would suck, everyone will hate me..etc. But I think most of all, I was afraid of being the failed intern who did everything wrong.

My first day ended up being alright minus the commute. It takes about 50 minutes (walk, train, walk) to get to the office by 9. That might sound average except the weather here is the worst. It's typically above 95 degrees with the highest humidity percentage EVER. Definitely hotter than Africa. Anyways, after my train ride I have to hike up two STEEEEEP roads before I get to the building. I always show up sweating profusely in so many places I didn't even know could sweat. That's how I showed up on my first day of work...I met everyone in the office and realized I was the only girl besides one of my bosses and the secretary. Still haven't decided if that's a good thing or not haha. I was put to work right away and was surprised they actually let me do real architecture work. I was expecting to work a typical office job. The second day I got to tag along to visit a site where we're currently building a new residence. I felt like such a noob and just stood there watching the architects and contractors discuss and argue. It was interesting at first but that quickly passed after about 20 minutes when I started fully sweating again. Construction site, no ventilation, HK humidity=no good.

After just a few days, I'm slowly getting the hang of things and complaining less. I don't dread going to work as much now that it's less awkward in the office and I'm learning more about how things work. I've realized that I'm extremely slow at working..I mean I always knew I was from studio haha..but it has hit me hard while working here because people are constantly watching and waiting for me to produce. I get so stressed because I don't want to disappoint. I'm getting better though and will ask for help instead of figure things out in the most inefficient way possible lol. Soo grateful to have working friends in similar time zones who are usually online to chat with/help me during my confused hours :) Currently they're having me design the entrance and some rooms for a childrens' center and it's been interesting to see it all come together. Everything happens so fast!

This will probably be my most productive summer up to date. I hope to learn lots, complain less haha.. and quit wasting precious time.

ASIAN INVASION

I can't believe I've been back in HK for exactly a month now..where did the time go?? I've been so busy the last two weeks because my cousins from New York were visiting..so everyday was going out. We visited Macau for a weekend and I was also in Shanghai for 5 days..visiting the expo..and just seeing the city itself. Advice to those who want to visit to expo...DO NOT GO! The lines are ridiculous..5-9 hour waits for the main pavilions. If you do decide to go..make sure you bring along someone over the age of 70 so you can go through fast track..but still one guest per senior haha. Shanghai overall was alright..not that exciting..maybe I didn't go to the right areas? Or maybe because I live in HK so I'm biased lol..The Bund in Shanghai was pretty nice though. It's this area that used to be part of the International Settlement so the style of the buildings are very European.

The China pavilion was definitely worth the wait but I would for sure not wait for Spain again. It was a 3 hour wait..and we were inside for about 15 mins..all we saw was some salsa dancer, plasma screens, and a gigantic moving baby. Not worth it lol. I won't post pictures of the other pavilions because we didn't go inside most of them so they're only exterior shots and there are waaaay too many. We also had some fun taking pictures and posing with random asian ladies...

Anyway, it has been an eventful two weeks for me and it's about to get more interesting because I finally have an internship! I've been stressing about not having one and now I'm stressing cause I have to work errrday 9-6. My laziness from this past month will not like getting up early and working straight without naptime.. :( but hopefully I will manage and not disappoint. I start Monday and I'll update more about that later!

In about 7 hours I'll be on a flight to Hong Kong. I really don't want to leave this time around..or at least not yet. I'm usually pretty excited to fly but I'm just kinda dreading it now. Maybe it's because I feel like this is the beginning of me leaving forever. First HK ..then Barcelona. I am so tired of people leaving forever and now I'm doing it too ugh.

I really need to start feeling more positive and happy about my travels haha. I'm just sad all the time when i should be happy to be able to even go anywhere. On another note, I'm sooo happy for my friends who are getting jobs..especially architecture buds (HAYEON! OLIVIA! WOOHOO!). It's assuring to know the future for us doesn't completely suck. Hopefully that will be me in a year.

I hope everyone has a fantassstic summer filled with nothing but laughs, food, and good people :) I'll keep updating while I'm in HK and I hope everyone does too so I can stalk efficiently. I'll be back shortly!

Berkeley is so dead after finals..it's strange walking back on college at night and most of the lights in the units are off. I'm leaving for LA in about 8 hours and I still haven't packed. My life has been so hectic these past few days hahah...hectic but really fun. I'm basically packing in people time before I leave but it's catching up to me and I'm so exhausted. END TO SPRING 2010

I know I have said this a million times but seriously...where has the time gone? Only five more days until we reach the end of our spring semester of junior year. The end to this semester feels so strange to me. People I've grown close with are graduating..my friends and I will soon be seniors in college..a year with my small group has ended :( Knowing that I will be gone from Berkeley and in freakin' Barcelona for a semester probably has a lot to do with how I've been feeling lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited to go but at the same time, I feel like I'm leaving so much behind. I just feel like I need some time to settle down and relax with friends..but finals week isn't helping much. Everyone is busy and stressed and no one really has the time to chill..besides me it seems like aha.

Next Tuesday I'll be going down to LA for two days to visit Maddie (yay!)..and then I'll be leaving for Hong Kong the following Monday. I wish I had a bit more time to spend with Berkeley friends but it just seems like everyone will then be busy with graduations, moving out, moving home, etc. It just makes me sad to know that I won't see a lot of these people for probably at least 7 months. I just wish everything could stay the same and time could just stop for a bit..just long enough for us to appreciate all the people we have around us. Everyone just needs to stop leaving (including me lol)! I guess I just miss all my daily/weekly routines and outings that I've grown so accustomed to this past year. Knowing that it will soon change just...really sucks.

There's just something about a sparkling clean toilet that gets me so excited. Came home yesterday and it's been pretty nice just chilling with my family. It kinda sucks this spring break cause a few of the friends I really want to see aren't around. I've been on break for two days and I've gone shopping for both of those days -_- I fail at saving money haha.

I went to Stoneridge today and I ran into so many old high school acquaintances..ones that I haven't seen or talked to for like..3 or 4 years. It was so strange and seeing these people made me realize how long ago high school was and how much I've changed since then. I used to feel very comfortable in San Ramon and going around to these familiar places felt natural. Now..seeing the new generation of students going to my old high school makes me feel so out of place haha. I never felt "old" until today when I had dinner with my hs cousins. Listening to their drama on who to take to junior prom made me feel like I was watching a show on mtv. Ugh, I guess all this leads to ..I kinda miss my Berkeley friends :(

RAINY DAY

Lately I feel like weeks have been flying by. Weekends come and go so quickly! Midterms are over, which means the semester is already halfway done. The end to this semester will be different..seems like a lot of my friends or acquaintances are graduating. Some will be studying abroad fall semester and it's gonna be weird not seeing the same faces on a daily basis :( We only have 5-6 weeks left and I for sure have not been making the most of it.

The past two weeks have been study study study and now I feel behind in my life. I need to get out more and spend more time with friends ..esp those who are leaving. I don't know why I'm feeling nostalgic haha ..probably because of the rain but yaaaah enough of this. Have a good Friday!

Last night, a few Stallionaires and myself went to support Shefali in her Bollywood competition. None of us really knew what to expect but I'm pretty sure we were all amazed at the talent of all the dancers (especially Shefayfay's). The production was huge..I really had no idea Bollywood was such a popular thing. Today our 140 section went to SF to the Pacific Energy Center. Pretty boring but nonetheless fun to have class outside of Wurster. Felt so bad for those in studio...they were all pretty much zombies. Life without studio...is THE BEST. My life is so much healthier and normal...really nothing to complain about anymore. Anyway, afterwards I chilled with MP and Czur in SF and we had some Thai food with FREE Thai iced teas! Anything free is good with us haha. We got to talking about blogs and pictures and I decided since I don't want to pay for a Flickr account, I'll just post my pichas here. So, this is what I've been up to lately in Berkz..meeting up with Stallionaires, old floormates, and today's SF excursion :)

Hello internet world. I have been away for you from so long this break..it's been kinda nice. This is probably the first few weeks I haven't signed onto AIM since...forever? Winter break has been such a nice refresher but it's almost over already. It's not really fair when I think about it. We go through a long semester of hell looking forward to this break at the end...and it passes by so quickly! And now we have to go back and redo the whole thang over. At least this semester will (hopefully) be much better. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) a healthier lifestyle and new friends/experiences.

I hope everyone has been having a fantastic time at home or anywhere that's not Berkeley. See you all very sooooooooooooon!

I'm supposed to be reading for city planning right now but instead I have wandered online (how surprising..). I have read a total of two pages in the last hour or so ..something is wrong with me haha.

I just took a a short nap and I slept for 9 hours last night ...why am I still so sleeeeepy! I need one of those things that keep your eyes open at all times...kinda similar to those other things that keep your mouth open at the dentist. Since I don't have one, I will have to get creative.

I can't believe that it's only week TWO of this semester. I feel like I've been back for such a long time...I'm already sick of this school routine. It's only Wednesday! AHHH! Studio today was extremely uneventful. It's so different from last semester now that we have actual instructors for our sections instead of GSIs. They are much more serious about it and we have to give them our full attention from 9am-1pm. I'm used to the old way where we do nothing in studio except chat, make fun of people, and eat. I can already tell that it won't be as fun.

Anyway, I just finished my classes for today and I'm feeling this new urge to actually read+study. It's such a foreign concept for me so I hope it works out...

After a long long loooooong flight, I've finally arrived in Hong Kong. The flight was supposed to be 13 hours but due to "bad weather conditions", we needed to stop in Taipei for like...an hour or two. NOT FUN. They told people in HK that it was "snowing" in San Francisco so we couldn't have a direct flight..right. This flight was a lot better because the girl who sat next to me, Gloria, also goes to CAL! It was a huge coincidence and it was nice to have someone to talk to for the 13 hours. For once, I didn't have to sit next to a large man who can barely fit in the seat.

Anyway, I'm here now after getting the internet to work. I saw my puppies and they are so so soo adorable. I'll be taking pictures soon so I'll post some of those later. I hope you guys back home have a wonderful Christmas!!

I just woke up from a 7 hour nap and it's almost 11PM. I woke up a little bit earlier and Steph told me she bought some rice pudding and mochi..:D, went back to sleep, woke up again and now I'm sitting here eating last week's chicken wings and decidingwhether I should watch Heroes first or GG. This can really only mean one thing..today was our final review for studio meaning that STUDIO IS OVER FOR THIS SEMESTER :D :D :D :D

It was such a great feeling sitting through the final review knowing that we finished 11b and actually survived it. It was also a bit strange because we all felt a little sad and nostalgic when we took all our projects back to studio and started to do a bit of clean up in preparation of moving out. We found so many things that reminded us of when we first started in September. We all kinda stood around and didn't really leave. Studio has been kind of a second home for us and our section bonded so well that we were all like roommates. But even though I was a little sad, I'm much more happy that we're finally done. Here's most of our section after final review :D

Now I just need to get through the next week of finals and Christmas will be here :D

I remember a time when I used to be so happy once December began. It's December 3rd and I AM FEELING MISERABLE..minus a few hours yesterday when I bought some great seats for the Britney tour in April :D.

We only have around two more weeks left in fall semester but these will probably be the hardest two weeks. Finals, papers, and projects are all happening at once and I'm not quite sure how I will be able to handle it. I need to quit complaining and study+build models! Thanksgiving break is finally here! I can't believe how fast November passed and how quickly CHRISTMAS is coming!! But that also means finals and all the unhappy school related stuffs.

Anyway, I'm finally back in San Ramon after a month or so and it is freezing in my house. I'm looking forward to a weekend at home..sleeping..eating..and seeing friends :D. I'm not in much of a blogging mode right now but I just thought I would write something because I haven't in awhile. I'm gonna go watch some TV and maybe do some studying haha...

So the last time I blogged was Thursday. That's so sad because that's when I started working on my project which was due this past Wednesday. I was too busy to do anything else but now that it's over, I have a bit of free time.

Wednesday night after the review was probably the most fun I've had since Halloween. My studio buddies and I went to SF on a complete whim and stayed at a hotel which was already paid for. It was so nice for us to finally get out of Berkeley especially after a terrible 5-6 days straight of studio and a terrible review. So we basically ate, ate, ate, shopped for a bit, and slept. SO NICE!!

But now we're back in Berkeley..back to school. Only one more week until Thanksgiving! Only a few more weeks until CHRISTMAS :D
Anyway, work time now. SEE YUH!

PROCRASTINATION+A.D.D.

I've come to realize that I have some serious procrastination and A.D.D. issues. I can not concentrate on my work without glancing at my laptop and checking some useless website to see if they've updated. This is becoming a problem! It takes me 6 hours to do something that would normally take one hour if I actually concentrated.

Also, I have sleep issues as well. If I set my alarm at a certain time, I will wake up at least one hour after. Or in worst case scenarios, I won't hear anything at all and continue sleeping..often missing reviews, which is NOT OK.

What to do..what to do. First, I need new alarm clocks..at least two. Second, I don't even know how to solve this procrastination+A.D.D. problem besides just slapping myself every time I waste time. Take now for example, it's 11:44AM. I set my alarm for 9:00AM and I just got out of bed. Right now, I should be finishing my english homework but instead I'm blogging. I need some changes in my life. YES I CAN. ..... um..hhahhaok. I'm leaving!

Studio has caused me to fall behind in this one picture a day challenge and I apologize..even though I'm pretty sure Steph is the only one who is even reading this to notice haha.

Anyway, I've been working on a project for about a week and final review was yesterday so I've been MIA for a few days. A lack of sleep and food have put me in this weird funk that I've been feeling yesterday and today. I did sleep for 10+ hours last night! I'm really starting to hate that class more with each project and all-nighter I have to pull. It's inhumane and I consider it child labor. I'm so glad I have friends in studio that I enjoy seeing or else it'll be so much worse. We have a day off(today) until they introduce our new project tomorrow..... which is when the whole cycle will begin again.

So now, I'm in the library wasting time before my 3:30 starts. With nothing to do, I stopped creepily wandering around the library and decided to find a computer to post instead. My shoes were making loud noises and people were getting annoyed. Alright, 3:30 is here. Have a fantastic Tuesday!

After a week of non-stop busyness, I finally have somewhat of a break..until tomorrow morning that is. It's 10:25 PM on a Friday night and everyone is going out while I just woke up from a satisfying 4 hour nap. I am such a loser nowadays. Fridays=sleep days. This last week seemed like such a jumble of stuff. I had a midterm, paper, and of course studio. I had the time of my life.

Tomorrow I'm finally going to see most of my Deutsch-ers from last year :D. I've been seeing all of them at different times this year and it'll be nice to see everyone together again.

HELLO! I haven't written in a month and five days and a lot of stuff has happened. I started school, suffered/suffering through studio, saw N*E*R*D+Common!, attempted to pledge APhiO, got excited about S5 Dunnys, and turned 19. That's my last month in a very quick recap. Let's move on to the present.

Yesterday was our first midreview for 11b and it was ...not fun at all. Everyone basically stayed up straight for 48 hours and still couldn't manage to finish everything for review. After review, I went back, slept for a few hours, went to Olivia's open mic night, then slept for 12 hours until the next day. I LOVE SLEEP!

It's already October which means it's midterm season here in Berkeley..while most of the other schools are just starting up classes. I've got two coming up in the next week..two classes which I have been seriously neglecting due to studio. I have a lot of catching up to do. :[ Anyway, I got to study..or pretend to study. See you all later.

THE BAHAMAS

After sitting in the Nassau airport for 4 hours waiting for our delayed flight, 6.5 hours of flying time, and 3 hours of waiting for our delayed luggage, I finally got home around 11pm Monday night. But despite all of that, my trip to the Bahamas was definitely well worth it. I'll only talk about the major things I did to avoid making this a gigantic post.

We left late Sunday night from SFO and got to Nassau, Bahamas around Monday night. Our first stop was the Atlantis Resort which was disappointing when we first arrived mainly because of the incredibly HYPED up reviews of this place in every travel resource. If you haven't been to the Bahamas, the islands are laid-back and it's generally considered a poor country. Tourism is basically their main income source. Atlantis is their main tourist resort and after a few days there exploring its entirety, I could understand why their reviews are so good. The resort is HUGE and it's on its own island. The main attraction there is the built-in waterpark which in itself is bigger than a normal hotel.

This is a photo of one of their main towers at the resort. I don't have a photo of the water park because we usually left our cameras in the room when we went to the water.

Nevermind, I have one of my brother and I going down one of their water slides haha.

I'm the slanted one on the left who's painfully skidding against the side of the slide! So we spent four days here just using all their facilities. Lucky me, the Miss Teen USA pageant was taking place at the Atlantis that weekend so we saw many of the contestants walking around with their sashes all the time.

And it wouldn't be the Bahamas without the beautiful clear water beaches. This is the beach outlining the island that the Atlantis is on. It's called Paradise Island. My photo here doesn't do it justice but oh well.

The casino! The legal age for gambling and drinking in the Bahamas is 18 so I was perfectly legal to participate in all activities..haha. I got carded so frequently that I ended up just carrying my ID in my hand. But, I still managed to pull some slot machines and play some blackjack with grandpas who looked at me funny. This is pathetic but I won a total of $3.00 there. But hey, at least I didn't lose.

After four days at Atlantis, we switched hotels and stayed at the Sheraton at Cable Beach to be closer to the activities that we signed up for. The first and probably one of the best things I've done was the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon.

This is a photo of the Blue Lagoon. We got to get in the water and interact with the dolphins! They let us touch, feed, dance, and swim with the dolphins in small groups. At the end, the dolphins gave everyone the "foot push". Definitely try to do this if you have the chance to be somewhere where they offer this.

The next day we signed up for Powerboat Adventures. We were basically taken on a tour of some islands. We fed iguanas, stingray, and sharks, and snorkeled around the coral reef. The owners of the island for some reason owed a few pigs so that was a little strange to see.

After all of that we had one day left, so my brother and I decided to go diving. I was terrified at the thought of going 30 feet underwater but after calming down, it was the best thing I've ever done! It's so hard to explain but it was awesome.

I watched Penelope with Teresa and Karina last night and even though I was super tired, I still thought it was pretty good. It's a cute little fairytale that's reminiscent of Pushing Daisies. It was a bit weird because I watched Black Snake Moan a few days ago with Christina Ricci and in that one, she plays a nymphomaniac...which is quite different from her cute character in Penelope. Anyway, go watch it!

o_o From the photo, it probably seems like any another Dunny BUT it is the 20" Touma Dunny. To be honest though, I'm not too crazy about the design for this one. I feel like the only thing that makes it cool is the size. But if you know Touma's designs, I guess it's very fitting and very him. Also, the price is just crazy as always..$300. I wonder how many people bought it. I don't know, I feel like all the 20inches KR has released aren't very appealing except for Tristan's El Dunny Loco back in 2005.

Someday I will have this sitting in my living room. I miss the good ol' days when 20 inches would sell out in minutes. Now it just takes forever because no one really wants them. Anyway, that's all for now.

After talking to Karina just now, I got excited about this again and decided to post. Posting two days in a row is probably a record for me. So anyway, today I woke up extremely late due to sleeping ... extremely late. I ran a few errands with my mom, played a lot of DS, and just basically hung around the house. Not too much excitement happened today so I'm going to talk about last Friday haha.

Last Friday I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled. :[ I was quite stressed about it Friday morning and kept comforting myself by thinking that I would be put to sleep. My dentist is in Berkeley so their office was, of course, ghetto and tiny. I was put in a room and all of a sudden a huge man comes in singing "IIIIIIIII'm coming up so you better get this party started.. ". He was the assistant for my actual dentist and his singing and silliness eased my nervousness a bit. So my actual dentist came in and quickly went over the procedure with me. I wasn't really listening; I was just watching him unwrap and sterilize the needle for the anesthesia. The assistant placed an oxygen mask on my face and turned on the laughing gas. I was a bit woozy while my dentist started to stick the needle in my arm. I closed my eyes preparing to get completely knocked out..a few minutes passed and I could still hear the soft elevator music playing in the room. I started to panic and in my completely drowsy and drunken state, I asked my dentist if I was supposed to be hearing the music. He told me "things are not working very well right now and no, you're not supposed to hear anything". Those are not words a patient who's about to get teeth pulled should hear!

So he continued to poke me in both my arms and still couldn't find my vein. After about 5 holes in my arms, he decided to just increase the laughing gas and continue with the surgery meaning that I would be fully awake and would feel some of the pain. Needless to say, the next 45 minutes WAS NOT FUN. If the damn laughing gas didn't make me that out of it, I would've demanded that he continue to poke me until the anesthesia worked. So anyway, I heard all and felt some of the sawing through my gums, the splitting of my teeth, and definitely the yanking. Afterwards, I left the office with a bloody mouth and extremely unstable footing (the gas still had affect). After the surgery, I was prepared to feel the pain that everyone's been telling me about but surprisingly, I felt very little pain. I'm still a little unsure why but the only discomfort I felt after the surgery up to today was just nausea from the gas. I'm hoping I just got lucky and that the pain won't suddenly creep up on me now. Soooo, my Friday was excellent...how was yours?

Ok, let's give this blog another go. I can't count the number of times I have posted something on here and then delete two weeks later. So since summer classes have ended, I had some free time to look over the list of things I wanted to do before fall semester starts. And the one thing that has never been crossed off my list was: UPDATE BLOG .. ..

I spent tonight on the internet (where else?) looking at "hip" stuff, reading Kanye+John Mayer's blogs, countless celebrity gossip blogs, and TERESA GARCIA'S BLOG . Anyway, the point is I figured I should do something more productive with the scary number of hours I spend online rather than knowing what Britney Spears did last weekend or which new toys are going to drop next month. (if you know me well enough, you know i'm not going to stop reading about all that stuff haha) So I'm trying this one more time and hopefully it'll last.

It's starting to get late now so I'm going to end this and maybe sleep? Who am I kidding..I'm going to watch some tv and see if my sites have updated anything in the past five minutes.

Let's hope this doesn't die out again.
